PHOTOSHOP ART

This project is titled ‘Leaf Splatter’ and was created in Adobe Photoshop. The project was undertaken using a multitude of different photo manipulation processes to achieve the final end result. Some of the processes used include layer masking, puppet warping, extensive cropping, filter effects as well as heavy use of the bevel and embossing tool. The combination of these unlikely elements ultimately created a unique and surreal art piece. The portrait of the girl was taken by myself with the remaining assets being sourced from various free-to-use resources websites.

“Seeds of Thought” is a series of Photoshopped images created for my Year 12 Visual Arts project as part of my HSC final work. Each image used was photographed personally in surrounding forests in the Illawarra, NSW. The photos were cropped and layer masked then edited into the hair and face of various portraits. The technique used to create these images is a digitised version of the ‘double exposure’ technique which originated from film-based darkroom processes. Six individual pieces were created with silhouettes of cockatoos flying between images tying them together.
